Without giving in-depth details, the White House affirmed the right of Israel to protect itself amid the surprise attack by Hamas militants. Reportedly, a high-level meeting was held between the US and Israeli officials. Following the high-level meeting on military aid between the United States and Israel, the White House stated, “The President directed additional support for Israel in the face of this unprecedented terrorist assault by Hamas,”

As per the sources, the National Security officials briefed the situation in Israel to President Joe Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris. A senior official of the White House said the US officials will remain in contact with Israeli officials. The White House stated that “counterparts throughout the region,” This announcement came following Antony Blinken, the US Secretary of  State said that Washington is considering the request of Israel for additional military aid. Antony Blinken further added the US is considering reports that the country’s citizens were killed and taken hostage in the surprise attack. “We are looking at specific additional requests that the Israelis have made. I think you’re likely to hear more about that later today,” said Antony Blinken.

The US Secretary of  State, Antony Blinken kept on saying that Israel has to first ensure the security of its people and then take steps to try to make sure that the attackers could not attack again. Blinken said, “These are early days. Israel has to, first and foremost, ensure the security of its people in Israel, and then it’s determined to take steps to try to make sure that this doesn’t happen again.”
