Who was Kim Dae-doo?
Kim Dae-doo was a serial killer from South Korea. He killed a total of 17 people within a span of three months. In 1975, South Korean people felt the fear of a serial killer in the city. The first victim of Kim Dae-doo was an elderly couple whom he killed on August 13, 1975. He attacked the couple when they were sleeping. He attacked the wife after killing her husband with a scythe and took away a flashlight from there. After six days, the serial killer attacked a household that was running a store. Kim Dae-doo killed an elderly couple and their grandson and took away 250 WON and some drinks with him.
Later he fled to Seoul city where he attacked an old man who was in his 60s. His worst crime came to light on September 25 when he killed all the members of a family consisting of a grandmother and three grandchildren ranging from 5 to 11 years of age. Later he smashed the face of an 11-year-old girl with a hammer before hanging her on a tree. After two days, Kim Dae-doo killed a family residing in Guri Village where he attacked a 3-year-old child and his parents. In total, he killed 17 people.

He was arrested when he gave his bloodied pants to a dry cleaner in CHeongrangyi. The shop owner complained of Kim Dae-doo to the police. Notorious serial killer Kim Dae-doo was from a rural community based in Yeongam County, South Jeolla. He has two brothers and four sisters in his family. During the trial, Kim Dae-doo was found guilty of murder, rape, robbery, and attempted robbery charges. He was executed on December 28, 1976, at the Seodaemun Jail in Seoul.
