SEC has urged Elon Musk to testify for the investigation in the $44 billion takeover of internet giant Twitter. Recently, a document was filed in the federal court in San Francisco yesterday. SEC officially defended the efforts to compel Musk’s testimony as he stated that the agency was just acting with its authority. In October 2023, the SEC was investigating Elon Musk’s 2022 purchases of the stock in Twitter (X) and also his statements and SEC filing which are related to the takeover of the internet giant. On this, the villainous refused to attend the interview for the probe which was held in September 2023. On 2nd November 2023, Musk and his lawyers raised a question to the federal judge to deny the SEC motion to compel the testimony and agency is going to exceed the authority.
