The Elder Scrolls 6 Release Date Has Been Confirmed Or Not!

The release date for Elder Scrolls 6 is still a few years away, but we now have official disclosures, a trailer, and other information to fuel our speculation. We may not have an official release date for Elder Scrolls 6, but at least we get our first glimpse at the game in a brief teaser video. The Elder Scrolls 6 is indeed real, as confirmed by the video’s opening, which begins with the series’ iconic musical motif and a pan across some mountains.

It’s possible that previous games in the series have spoiled us, but at this point, we’re ready for something new. Long after its first release, it will still be in good shape: Gameplay in The Elder Scrolls 6 will keep us busy “for a decade at least,” according to Bethesda director Todd Howard. Everything we know about The Elder Scrolls 6 is laid out here, from the game’s setting and gameplay elements to its possible release date.

News

The Elder Scrolls VI is reportedly still in pre-production as of January 2022, with the studio focusing on Starfield instead. Further, the title ‘Redfall’ has been linked to rumors of The Elder Scrolls 6. Bethesda’s parent company Zenimax attempted to trademark the title “Redfall” in September 2008, but this conflicted with Jay Falconer’s series of the same name. The trademark issue over Elder Scrolls 6: Redfall was finally settled in 2019.

The fact that Shirley Curry, better known as “Skyrim Grandma” on YouTube, will be playable in The Elder Scrolls 6 is also no secret to us. After a fan petition garnered 49,322 signatures, Bethesda announced the news during The Elder Scroll’s 25th anniversary live. Regarding supplementary non-player characters, it’s possible that a tribute will be made to an Elder Scrolls enthusiast whose lifelong ambition was to make a cameo in Skyrim.

For more on why Bethesda revealed The Elder Scrolls VI so early, check out this conversation between Pete Hines and VGR: “We were honestly a little bored of being asked about Elder Scrolls VI.” So there you have it; the reveal tells us nothing about the development status of the Skyrim sequel other than the fact that Bethesda is tired of answering the subject.

Elder Scrolls 6 Release Date

The release date for Elder Scrolls 6 has not yet been announced. Maybe it’s been officially announced, but there’s still no word on when it’ll be available. The prominent analyst Michael Pachter was mistaken in 2016 when he projected that The Elder Scrolls 6 will be released in 2017.
According to Tyler McVicker, who works in the video game industry, The Elder Scrolls VI won’t be released until 2026 or 2027. Starfield’s anticipated release in 2023 is a major factor in this.

Elder Scrolls 6 Plot

Skyrim’s intricate storyline, which is rife with political intrigue, is one of the series’ defining features. The outcome of a struggling country that is only technically a part of the Empire depends on your actions in the game’s civil war. I’m hopeful that the story in The Elder Scrolls VI will be groundbreaking.

While the setting and history might have some bearing on the tale of Elder Scrolls VI, we can only hope that the game’s storyline will live up to our lofty expectations for it. At this time, there is no other information available regarding the release of Elder Scrolls 6. While you wait, you can learn some interesting things about Starfield, such as the planets in Starfield, how to construct ships in Starfield, and the various groups you’ll have to fight against in Starfield.

Elder Scrolls 6 Trailer

Here is the Elder Scrolls 6 trailer before we get into all the delicious rumors and news. Hammerfell, the homeland of the Redguard, or High Rock, the homeland of the Breton, appear to be the likely destinations for TES 6.

Geographical Map

High Rock and Hammerfell are two Elder Scrolls places that may come to mind when you watch the announcement trailer for Elder Scrolls VI. Why?

There are a lot of mountains, a lot of coastlines, and a lot of dry, desert plains. We don’t know where Elder Scrolls 6 will take place until Bethesda announces it. While previous entries in the series have largely focused on a single locale, The Elder Scrolls VI’s lofty design goals suggest that we may be taking trips to more than one location. There’s a chance we may see a full continent, The Elder Scrolls Online style.

Some have hypothesized that the area depicted in the Elder Scrolls VI reveal video was merely symbolic and not actually present in the game. The Elder Scrolls 6’s location has been known for some time, as Todd Howard mentioned in an interview with Eurogamer, and the teaser helps you rule some of them out.

Based on a tweet sent out towards the close of the year 2020, Hammerfell is our best prediction. The words “transcribe the past and plan the future” was superimposed over a map of Skyrim. Compared to the whole map of Tamriel, it’s clear that the borders of Cyrodiil (the location for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion) and High Rock (the kingdom of the high elves) are much more veiled than the territory of Hammerfell to the southwest.

Perhaps the next Elder Scrolls game will take place in Hammerfell, the homeland of the Redguards, as that region also features a white circle. The region’s rugged appearance is consistent with the promotional video’s depiction of the area. However, there is yet no confirmation that this tweet is related to an upcoming expansion for The Elder Scrolls Online.

Race Predictions

If the next chapter of The Elder Scrolls series truly takes us somewhere new, perhaps we’ll get to meet some brand new races and learn about their unique lore and play styles. No new races were introduced in Skyrim, though, so if Tamriel remains the setting for The Elder Scrolls VI, we shouldn’t expect to see any new species or races. But the Maormer, or Sea Elves, appear in The Elder Scrolls Online, so maybe they’ll make a comeback in the next proper installment.

The Elder Scrolls 6 Gameplay

For The Elder Scrolls 6, Bethesda will most likely improve upon Skyrim and The Elder Scrolls Online’s gameplay. But the development firm hasn’t shared much information regarding upcoming updates. To begin with, Bethesda announced that they would be using the brand-new Creation Engine 2 to create the games.

However, the infamous Skyrim Grandma will be playable in a non-player capacity. Skyrim Grandma, aka Shirley Curry, has been streaming the game for years, and after a fan petition, Bethesda has finally decided to give her a cameo in The Elder Scrolls 6.

Will The Elder Scrolls VI be available only on Xbox?

Here is a tweet from Jeff Grubb, a writer who has contributed to several well-known role-playing games through his short tales, novels, and comics. The Forgotten Realms and Dragonlance campaign settings were co-created by Grubb and Ed Greenwood.

The Magic: The Gathering, Guild Wars, StarCraft, and countless more video game series’ all have ties to him in some capacity. Despite his lack of any affiliation with Bethesda, Grubb has been known as “Mr. Current Affairs” in the video game business.

His tweet is a reference to comments made by Pete Hines, vice president of global marketing and communications at Bethesda, regarding how future games will be Xbox One exclusive. Mr. Hines frequently makes references to the PlayStation and Xbox, thus he may be implying that just the Xbox is receiving the games at this time.

In any case, The Elder Scrolls VI will most certainly be released for Xbox and PC, despite his silence on the matter, given Microsoft’s continued heavy investment in Windows. It is difficult to envision not releasing the new Elder Scrolls game to many platforms, according to Todd Howard, an executive producer, and director at Bethesda.

After hearing complaints from Starfield players about the game’s PC and Xbox exclusivity, Bethesda decided to make the game available on PlayStation 4 and Switch. It’s possible that circumstances will alter before the release of The Elder Scrolls 6.
