Tamil Nadu: Schools in Chennai shut today due to heavy rainfall forecast

Breaking News: The government of Chennai has announced a school holiday for today because of the heavy rainfall forecast. All the schools in Chennai are closed today. Currently, Chennai is in a very bad situation because of the heavy rainfall. Heavy rainfall occurred in Tamil Nadu on 4th November 2023, Saturday. So the Chennai District Administration has announced that all the schools are going to be closed today. Currently, there is a big risk of sending children outside the home. The Chennai District Administration has officially announced that all the schools in Chennai are going to be shut down because of the heavy rainfall forecast. Regarding the heavy rainfall, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has officially issued an orange alert for the entire Tamil Nadu warning directing the government authorities to stay alert. As per the regional meteorological center in Chennai, the spell of rainfall is going to be till 7th November 2023. According to the weather departments, the trough over the Bay of Bengal off the Tamil Nadu coast has now triggered that it has widespread rainfall in the southern state. This might influence the rain to go up the intensity from 11.5 to 20.4 cm in areas such as Thoothukudi, Ramanathapuram, Kanniyakumari, and Coimbatore on 4th November 2023, Saturday.
