Samsung Galaxy Book 3 Ultra: The Laptop Redefined with AMOLED Tech

Following much speculation, Samsung has officially introduced its Galaxy Book 3 family of laptops, which includes the company’s first Ultra laptop. The 120Hz, 2,880 x 1,800 Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays are at the heart of the Galaxy Book 3 Pro, the Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 convertible, and the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra.

This technology was ripped straight from Samsung’s flagship smartphones. The Pro 360 supports just touch input, however, it boasts a wide color gamut (120% DCI-P3), fast reaction times, and DisplayHDR True Black 500.

Obviously, the 16-inch Galaxy Book 3 Ultra (seen above) is promoted as a high-powered device. This is a dedicated gaming rig, containing a 13th-generation Intel Core i9 processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 graphics.

You can also count on a 1080p webcam, an AKG-tuned quad-speaker array with Dolby Atmos surround sound, and up to 32GB of RAM (with an extension slot).

Connectivity options include two Thunderbolt 4 ports, one USB-A port, a microSD card slot, a headphone jack, and an HDMI output. The Ultra’s full aluminum frame, used in other variants as well, makes it a lightweight and compact system at 3.9 pounds and 0.65 inches in thickness.

Typical slim and light portables, the Galaxy Book 3 Pro and Pro 360 (center) are presented here. Both may use up to a 13th-generation Core i7 processor and rely on Iris Xe graphics that are incorporated into the motherboard.

They share the Ultra’s ports, storage capacity (up to 32GB of RAM and 1TB of SSD), and connectivity, but lack the Ultra’s ability to expand and support HDMI 2.0. (only HDMI 1.4).

There are two different sizes of the Pro to choose from: a 14-inch model that weighs in at a feathery 2.42 pounds and a 16-inch model that weighs in at a hefty 3.4 pounds. The touchscreen notebook PC does, however, come with an optional 5G modem.

The compatibility with Samsung’s mobile devices is also improved. Since the Galaxy Book 3 has a trackpad and keyboard, you can now use Multi Control to navigate your phone instead of simply your tablet. The Expert RAW photographs taken with these phones can be uploaded automatically and edited using Adobe Lightroom.
