PM Modi Says India Will Bid To Host Olympics 2036

While expressing the desire to host the Olympics in 2036, the Prime Minister of India said a joint committee would be formed by the Indian Olympic Association and the government in the coming days to discuss the roadmap to bring the Olympics to India in 2036. The central government and the IOA will discuss bids to be made for the Olympics 2036. However, the bid will be decided after the Indian Olympic Association elections take place the next year. On Saturday, PM Modi further added that the joint committee should emphasize that it is not important for the bid to host the Olympics would be a single city, it can be a multi-nation proposal, multiple cities, or a regional effort. Kindly note that India has written a letter to the International Olympic Committee to respond to the ongoing discussion. PM Modi announced it at the opening ceremony of the IOC Session in Mumbai. Kindly note that before the Olympics 2036, Tokyo and Paris decided to host the Olympics seven years ago and 11 years ago Brisbane was announced to host the Olympics in 2032. The decision on who will host the 2036 Olympics has no set timetable, said the director of the Future Olympic Games Hosts, Barrett. She further added that the decision might not be made until 2030.
