According to the report, Mandaviya underlined that the NIMSR has been not only a medical college but also a research institute. He also added, ‘It will not only fulfill the purpose of imparting medical education but is going to address the health of the Naga people. Mandaviya highlighted the Centre’s commitment to enhancing medical education in India, stating,” In a nine-year span, the (number of) MBBS seats in India has expanded from 64,000 to 1.6 lakh.
