For PC Game Pass customers, the current update brings the entire edition of Everspace 2, while console and cloud users get Iron Brigade. These two titles are the most recent additions to the Xbox Game Pass library for the month of April 2023.
Loop Hero, added to Xbox Game Pass on April 4, 2023, was a great way to kick off the month of new titles. In the innovative role-playing game Loop Hero, the player takes on the role of the hero and directs him through the globe.
At the time of its release in 2021, it was widely regarded as one of the best new video games of the year, and it went on to become a surprise bestseller. Loop Hero was added to Xbox Game Pass on the same day it was released for Xbox, therefore it could be argued that it was a day one Xbox Game Pass game even if it wasn’t billed as such.

Even though Xbox didn’t advertise Everspace 2 as a “day one release,” the game’s completion means that it counts as a “day one release.” The entire version of Everspace 2 is now available to play for subscribers to PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Iron Brigade, first released for the Xbox 360 in 2011, is now also available for PC users in the cloud and on consoles.

Iron Brigade’s delayed addition to Xbox Game Pass is a bit of a surprise. After all, Iron Brigade was created and released by Microsoft-owned studio Double Fine. There are still more Double Fine titles that aren’t available on Xbox Game Pass, but maybe they’ll join the service soon as Iron Brigade did.
The future of Xbox Game Pass’s relationship with Double Fine is unclear, but April 2023 will bring a number of other titles known to subscribers. Xbox Game Pass will receive Ghostwire: Tokyo on April 12, NHL 23 on April 13, and Minecraft Legends on April 18. The Last Case of Benedict Fox and Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly will both be available on Game Pass on April 20.
Homestead Arcana, a farming and life simulation game, will also be available on Xbox Game Pass on April 21. Xbox Game Pass members may have even more to look forward to this month, as the entire lineup of games arriving in the second half of April 2023 has not yet been disclosed.
