Reportedly, two nurses treated Maya Kowalski in the hospital took the stand Wednesday morning. They both expressed how much they enjoyed having Maya as a patient but had not had any contact with her since she left Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. As the security wrapped up its case, they showed the jury video testimonies from Maya, her dad, Jack Kowalski, and her uncle Scott Kowalski. Her uncle suggested taking Maya to a doctor’s appointment and stated she seemed to enjoy being in the car with the windows open and did not appear to be in pain. After Scott Kowalski’s deposition, the jury saw a video deposition from Jack Kowalski, Maya’s father. He stated he doesn’t see signs of CRPS in Maya now. She also stated that she preferred physical education as an elective in the eighth grade and enjoyed playing football and other sports. She walks for about an hour each morning and she does yoga. Then she takes her dog outside many times a day and plays the piano every day. In her deposition, Maya stated the only medications she has been taking are Claritin and Flonase as needed.
