India’s southwest monsoon to exit in first week of October

The India Meteorological Department stated this year the monsoon rainfall was its lowest since 2018 because the EI Nino weather pattern made August the most waterless in more than a century. Indin Meteorological Department (IMD) stated the rainfall over the country from June to September was 94% of its long-period standard, the lowest since 2018. EI Nino has been a warming of Pacific waters that has been generally accompanied by more waterless states over the Indian subcontinent. The monsoon was irregular, with June rains 9% below middle because of the delay in the coming of rains, but July rains reversed to 13% above average. August was the most waterless in history with a 36% deficit. But, in September, India obtained 13% more rainfall than normal. IMD weather forecast (1-4 October)

East India – Light/ medium rainfall or thunderstorms may happen over sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Odisha, Sikkim, and Jharkhand between 1 to 4 October and in Bengal and Bihar, few places may experience rain from 1 to 5 October.

NORTHEAST INDIA – As per the IMD’s new weather updates, light, moderate fairly widespread rainfall/ thunderstorms and lighting may happen over Meghalaya and Assam during 1-5 October. The rain precipitation has been for Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Nagaland from 3 to 4 October.  In Arunachal Prades, rain might happen on the 3rd and 4th of October.

CENTRAL INDIA – Light to medium rainfall may happen in Chhattisgarh from 1 to 3 October.

WEST INDIA – weather updates Light to medium rainfall may happen  2nd October onwards in Maharashtra, Goa, and south Konkan.
