India Sends Humanitarian Aid To Gaza Amid War

The news that India sent 38 tons of food and necessary medical equipment to the civilians in the Gaza Strip, was confirmed by the Indian ambassador to the UN, R. Ravindra who is the Deputy Permanent Representative of India to the UN, said on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, “The mounting humanitarian crisis is equally alarming” The DPR also thanked the UNGA (United Nations General Assembly) for the open debate on the chapter of hostilities in West Asia. Ravindra further added, “India is deeply concerned about the deteriorating security situation and large-scale loss of civilian lives in the ongoing conflict”

He also mentioned Prime Narendra Modi in his speech to praise him and that he conveyed his condolences to the victims’ families. He said, “Our PM Narendra Modi was one of the first global leaders to have conveyed his condolences for the loss of lives and prayers for the innocent victims and their families. We stood in solidarity with Israel at their moment of crisis when they were facing these terror attacks. Our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured. Civilian casualties in the ongoing conflict are a matter of serious and continuing concern. All parties must protect civilians, especially women and children,”

Ravindra also spoke about the stand of India in the ongoing war between Israel and Palestine. He said that we continue to support the Palestinian people in terms of health, education, women’s empowerment, information technology, and entrepreneurship. He further said that the Indian government will further provide humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people.
