The educational program for Children, Kindy aka Kindergarten will be free from January 1, 2024, for Queensland children only. The government of Queensland said while announcing Kindy will be free that the government wants every child to have a strong start to their education. Reportedly, Kindy is a part-time educational program that is 15 hours per week and 40 weeks per year free for the children of Queensland. Kindy aka Kindergarten program is offered in sessional kindergarten services and long day care services. The Long day care services are provided as part of their extended hours of care whereas the sessional kindergarten services are provided during the hours of school each term. Kindergarten is delivered in different ways at different services. If a kid attends Kindy Program in a long daycare setting, additional care may be covered in part by the Australian Government Child Care Subsidy.
