The Food and Consumer Affairs ministry has extended the time period of the existing stock limits of the urad and tur dal for a total of two months which means till the 31st of December 2023. It has been reported that before this decision the stock limits on urad and tur dal were going to end on the 30th of October 2023 but now there is the biggest twist and it has been extended for more than two months. The Food Ministry has also revised the stock holding limit for the minimum entities. As per the notification by the ministry, the stock limits for the big chain retailers and wholesalers at the depot are now going to be reduced from 200 tonnes to 50 tonnes each.
