It has been officially announced by DMRC that from 25th October 2023, Wednesday Delhi Metros are going to run on a more frequency to beat air pollution. This decision was taken after Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP)-ll measures were invoked so that it can combat the pollution in Delhi. As per the reports by DMRC it has been reported that more than 4,300 trips are undertaken by the Deli Metro every single day and from now 40 additional trips are going to run on weekends.

According to the source, the district officials are going to conduct field visits to ensure the strict implementation of the pollution mitigation measures. It has been instructed by the government of Delhi that from now some additional buses are going run in Delhi under the Paryavaran Bus Sewa. This is a campaign to bolster public transport to help reduce vehicular emissions. On 23rd October 2023, Monday, the government of Delhi identified eight more spots of pollution and it has been reported that besides those 8 spots, 13 spots are already existing in Delhi. The Delhi Environment Minister, Gopal Rai has claimed that special teams are going to be deployed to check the pollution sources. He has also stated that he has ordered officials to use the suppressant powder to clean the dust pollution in Delhi.

Gopal Rai has also stated that the special teams have been deployed in the eight new pollution spots where they are going to take corrective measures in collaboration with the Delhi pollution control committee. Rai has also urged to chief secretary to ensure the officials work diligently for November 2023 when it is reported that pollution is going to be at its peak level. The situation of Delhi’s air pollution has remained very poor and now it is going more worsen.
