CM Dhami Reach Uttarakhand Tunnel Collapse Site
The chief minister and transport minister of Uttarakhand reportedly visited the Silkaya end of the collapsed tunnel where the rescue mission is currently under process. Recently CM Dhami said that 45 metres of pipeline have been laid through an auger machine to rescue the trapped laborers. A senior official stated that rescue operations have entered the final stages in Uttarkashi at the Silkyara tunnel. He further added that they would reach the 41 trapped workers inside the collapsed tunnel by Thursday morning. It has been more than 10 days since the 41 workers have been trapped inside the tunnel and under the debris after the under-construction tunnel collapsed on November 12.
The entrance of the collapsed tunnel got blocked due to debris falling on the Silkyara side in a 60-meter stretch. The Uttarkashi collapsed tunnel is from Silkyara to Barkot.
