The Chinese Foreign Minister’s visit to the US comes amid the US lawmakers told China to remove the difference in trade and economic ties between the two countries. The meeting happens before an expected meeting between US President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping during a regional summit in San Francisco, which is planned to take place next month in an effort to manage the increasingly fraught relationship. Biden and Xi Jinping have not talked since their last meeting on the sidelines of the Group of 20 summit in Bali, Indonesia, in November.
