Apex Legends Season 17 Patch Notes: Map Updates, Ballistic, and Everything Else You Should Know!

On May 9th, you may get your hands on Season 17’s Arsenal for Apex Legends. There may be significant alterations to the game, but no official patch notes have been released as of yet.

The 24th Legend, August ‘Ballistic‘ Brinkman, a new and better fire range, a new advancement system called Weapon Mastery, modifications to the World’s Edge map, and more are among the developments we know of. What little we do know is laid forth below.

New Legend: Ballistic

August ‘Ballistic’ Brinkman, an aging eccentric hermit who formerly competed in the Thunderdome Games (a forerunner to the modern-day Apex Games), has been named the new Legend. He quit the military and isolated himself after the death of his brother-in-law and squad member.

When his kid was old enough to participate in the games, he made a bargain with Eduardo Silva to come back if his son never entered the Apex Arena.

Passive ballistic ability The sling allows him to bring a third weapon, although it can’t be equipped in any way. When he activates his ultimate ability, Tempest, this gun turns to gold.

His skill as a tactician W is a gun that zeroes in on its target and releases a single shot. If successful, it will inflict a debuff making the target’s gun overheat whenever fired, damaging the user. If it doesn’t hit the target directly, it will generate a small area around it that will have the same impact if the target enters it.

His most remarkable talent is For a limited time, Tempest and his allies can move around while armed and firing at top speed thanks to a protective zone he generates.

Apex Legends Season 17 Map Changes: World’s Edge

World’s Edge will soon undergo significant transformation. As explained by the Developers, these changes constitute a sort of “Health Check for the Map.” The primary points of interest (POIs) in the Western and Eastern fragments have been removed. This drop location has consistently ranked among the most popular in the Apex Legends maps.

Some of the Fragments’ structures are still standing, such as the Train Station and its environs, but the area is now known as Monument. However, the Market, the bridge, and the two buildings it connected are no longer standing, and the construction site is empty.

A new building has been added to Lava City, with design cues taken from the original Capitol City POI’s construction facility and the renovated structure. Stacks is the new name for this newly created POI.

Additional northerly snowfall has re-established pathways in and around Skyhook. Skyhook now features a new Loot Vault and a higher Vault Key drop rate. Both Trials and Harvester have had minor tweaks as well.

Firing Range: New and Improved

Arsenal’s Firing Range is undergoing yet another extensive renovation for Season 17. The Firing Range is expanding to include other environments, such as a city with doors and buildings where players can practice indoor and outdoor lighting using door mechanics.

A new pit has been constructed with various blocks and covers at multiple heights for players to engage in one-on-one battles and improve their agility.

Apex Legends Season 17 Patch Notes

There will no longer be a need for the previously mentioned secret easter egg for the Training Dummies to engage in combat. You don’t have to cancel your training session to invite your buddies to join you in the range, either.

New Ranked System

Changes are being made to how matches are made and how much it costs to enter the Ranked System. To receive a rank for Season 17, players must compete in 10 placement matches. You can then work up from that tier to achieve your desired level. Instead of using wins and losses to determine placement like Overwatch does, Hidden MMR will be used.

Using your performance in the placement matches, the algorithm will assign you a starting position based on where it believes you’ll have the most fun climbing the ranks. You’ll earn Ladder Points instead of Ranked Points as you move up the levels. Each season from now on will be a complete ranking season without any breaks in between.
