Man Dies After Fight Incident At Albany Bus Station
Callum McNeill said the incident took place at around 12:50 p.m. “Emergency services are responding to an incident, which was reported at around 12.50 p.m.,” He further added that one man was immediately rushed to a hospital in Auckland. The victim was in critical condition at that time. Sadly, he could not sustain the pressure of his injuries and handed off his life at the hospital. “One person was transported to Auckland Hospital in a critical condition and has since died from their injuries.” Currently, police are looking into the details and analyzing the circumstances surrounding the fight incident that broke out outside the Albany bus station.
Homicide Investigation Launched In Albany Incident
Detective Inspector McNeill further explained that it seemed to be an isolated incident. Shortly after Auckland Transport revealed that the fight incident occurred between members of the public ended up in the death of the person. The altercation broke out at the station, which resulted in one person sustaining life-threatening injuries and another with a minor injury. According to Auckland Transport Travel Alerts, the large section of the bus station will be off-limits to the people as investigators are conducting an investigation there.
Stacey van der Putten of Auckland Transports said, “While Albany Bus Station is closed we are detouring all buses that stop at the station to a series of bus stops along Don McKinnon Drive and AT staff will be on the ground to help our customers navigate these detours,” A person who claimed that he witnessed the fight incident outside the Albany bus station with his naked eyes, said someone was stabbed and he was covered in his own blood.
