On Monday, after instances of stone pelting were informed the district government set Section 144 of the CrPC in the Ragi Gudda area of Karnataka’s district. Section 144 is imposed in the location to avert any untoward incident, the police stated. As per the PTI newsagent, an angry mob has been stated to have thrown stones at a few homes and vehicles and due to this multiple people got injured, reportedly following the rumours that there was a stone pelting on the Eid Milad spectacle. Shivamogga SP GK Mithun Kumar reported to ANI news agency “Some miscreants throw stones during the Eid Milad procession. Few vehicles and houses have been damaged. Based on the video and information, a few individuals have already been arrested in association with the incident. Section 144 has been imposed in the location as a preventive measure. A case has been registered. After that, the condition is under control, apart from  Ragi Gudda and  Shanti Nagar. Strict action will be taken against the culprits. As far as we know, police stated they have taken some into custody and now the condition is under control. Mithun Kumar said “There was a stone pelting incident in Ragigudda this evening. But, we managed to disperse the crowd and the situation is under control now. Police urged residents to abstain from circulating rumours on social media platforms.
