In the viral video, there are scenes of people rioting near what is claimed to be Marley’s residence. At one point, an individual from inside the house appears to try to close a door, while others outside attempt to pull it open. People can be heard angrily questioning Naira Marley about Mohbad’s death. The video then shows significant smoke and flames. It’s important to note that while social media users claim that the burned residence belonged to Naira Marley, no official sources have confirmed this information. Additionally, Facebook user Zamani’s Blog suggested that Marley had been receiving threats to leave Nigeria. The relationship between Mohbad and Naira Marley had deteriorated, leading to Mohbad’s departure from Marlian Records in October 2022, which surprised many in the industry.

Naira Marley established his record label during the Marlian Fest in December 2019 in Lagos State, Nigeria. At the time, he proudly announced the signing of four artists to his label, which included Cblack, Mohbad, Fabian Blu, and Zinoleesky. However, tensions between Mohbad and Naira Marley escalated three years later, leading to a significant fallout. Mohbad’s legal representatives issued a letter to Naira Marley’s record company, officially terminating Mohbad’s contract. Among the allegations in the letter were accusations of assault and battery against Mohbad by the organization. The legal letter also claimed that Naira Marley’s company had failed to provide the agreed-upon advances and royalties to Mohbad since 2019. In an interview on the Big Friday Show, Mohbad discussed the reasons behind their separation and his current status. He stated: “I’m doing my own thing. I’m happy being on my own because that’s what I wanted all along. It’s been more challenging, but that’s normal because nothing good comes easy… There’s nothing that has made me consider going back to Marlian Music… Between Naira Marley and me, it’s just ‘hi, hi’ from afar, you know?”
